In December 2016, the European Commission launched the European Solidarity Corps.

It enables young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to take part in a range of solidarity activities that address challenges across the EU. With this video we would like to give you an overview of the programme six months since its launch.

On 30 May 2017, the Commission adopted a legislative proposal on the European Solidarity Corps. The proposal will consolidate the initiative, bringing together existing financing programmes, as well as further shaping the European Solidarity Corps. Once the proposal is adopted, the European Solidarity Corps will have a dedicated budget, laying the basis for a robust roll-out in order to allow 100,000 young people to take part by the end of 2020.
